The experimental archaeology in the Bucium research programme
will consist mainly of replication experiments in which artefacts
and activities related to gold mining will be reproduced.
Students will take part to the reproduction of the most important
wooden
tools, as well as ancient stone tools, such as the grinding
mill.
A special attention will be paid to the reconstruction
of a "steamp" (stamping-mills made of wood), similar to
the ones used during the Middle Age.
There will be other experiments dedicated to the replication
of gold panning. |
