This part of the archaeological programme will use the ethnographic
observations of contemporary Bucium society to explain patterning
of cultural remains in the archaeological record of the region.
There will be an intensive study of the surviving techniques
of gold mining and traditional agriculture in order to understand
the development of the Middle Age settlements along the Bucium
valley.
Part of the ethnoarchaeological programme will be dedicated
to a comparative study of the settlement patterns in the Bucium
and Mogos area.
Finally, the programme will reflect the interest in using
field surveys and sampling techniques to demonstrate the historical
validity of oral traditions. |
